How do I decrease my shower pressure besides replacing the shower head?

I know it sounds crazy and people would kill for amazing shower pressure. But folks, it hurts when I shower. My hair feels gross because the pressure is so intense, I can’t lather my hair up. Is there any other way to decrease it without changing the shower head or wasting water?

Install a pressure regulator or a flow restrictor on supply inlet side.

I had same problem, We took off the shower head and put in a couple grains of sand in at a time until we got our desired pressure.
inside every shower head is a water saver and you can slow it down with the sand
if you mess up and put to much, just take apart the shower head and rise out the sand and start over, its cheaper than a pressure regulator and works fine!
