How do I install my new shower head?
By admin | December 14, 2011
asked:
I bought a new shower head and it came with no instructions so i thought it just screwed in. I have tried to take the old shower head off by twisting but its not coming off and i dont want to use too much force and break it. Does it just screw on or are there different kinds of shower heads, how do i put my new shower head on?

Every shower head I have ever seen screws onto the pipe coming out of the shower wall exactly the same way. They’re all the same diameter and have the same thread size. You probably just have some corrosion or mineral build up that’s keeping the shower head from unscrewing. But, that’s how it would come off.
The only thing I would caution about is if there’s a set screw going through the base of the shower head and into the pipe. But, if there’s no set screw, it should just come off by turning it (and remember: righty-tighty, lefty-loosey).

The wall and the old one screws in its place you may need to use tools to use tools to turn.
