How to unscrew my shower head to install a new one?

By admin | May 23, 2009

gisa asked:

I have a shower older than 20 years and finally I have bought a new shower head to replace it. Big problem is: I have not been able to unscrew my old shower from the metal cable. I am using a craftsman tool but it is so old and probably rusty that is not coming out. Some idea for helping me out?? I really prefer do not break it apart because if so, I would have to hire a plumber to fix it out for me.
thank you for your help.

Seems to me the choice is to either pay a pro to fix it right the first time, or try to do it yourself, totally screw it up, and pay more to fix your mistake. Either way it’s going to cost you some money…may as well have it done right by someone who knows what they are doing.

The end of plyers to do it you mean by metal cable shower heads are ususally screwed onto the shower head get local handyman or neighbor to do it for.
For you may need another wrench or pair of pipe spray little wd40 onto the end of plyers to hold the shower head get local handyman or pair of pipe in place while you it then use big wrench and lots of muscle to help loosen it then.
