Is a shower head that uses 2.5 gallons per minute helping me to conserve water?

Today I installed a new shower head. It really sprays good and my drain has a hard time keeping up. Am I really conserving water or would I be better off getting one that uses less than 2.5 gallons per minute?

      actualy i would go with a 2.0 shower head or take shorter showers. also i would use one of those hand showers. with a hand shower u can take shorter showers and get every part of your body cleen.
